Elementary Inclusive Education - Master of Arts

I am a first-year MA student in the Elementary Inclusive Education program here at Teachers College. I graduated from Bates College in 2021 with a double major in Neuroscience and Dance, then moved to Madrid, Spain for two years to teach English in a public secondary school. I am passionate about equity in education and I hope to become a 2nd or 3rd grade teacher in NYC. I was born and raised in New York State, but this is my first time living in the city, which has been very exciting! I love to go for walks, listen to podcasts, dance, knit, and see live performances. I am thrilled to be a part of the TC community and help you out on your graduate school journey!

Politics & Education - Master of Arts

I am a current master’s student in the Politics and Education program at Teachers College. I’m originally from northern Virginia and have a Bachelor’s degree in government from the College of William and Mary, where I also double majored in music. Prior to becoming a student at TC, I worked as an associate editor for the periodicals team at the National Association for the Education of Young Children in Washington, DC. My academic and professional experiences have taught me so much about the state of education policy in this country, and I’m excited to continue learning at such a renowned institution. Outside of class and work, I’m an enthusiastic supporter of live music, theater, and film - in my first year living in New York, I learned there is truly no better city to be in to support the arts! Additionally, I enjoy reading, listening to music and political/news-based podcasts, and trying new things in the city. I’m so excited to welcome new members to the TC community and be even a small part of your TC journey!

Art and Art Education - Master of Arts

I am a second-year MA student in the Art and Art Education program at Teachers College. I majored in psychology and education in college with a minor in art history. I grew up in New York City and returned after college in Western Massachusetts. As the Covid-19 pandemic upended all sense of normalcy, I reassessed my priorities and career goals. I am passionate about innovative education practices, DEIB initiatives, museum education programs, and art offerings in schools. In my free time, I like going to art exhibitions, bouldering, and trying new restaurants. This year I would like to sightsee within NYC more. I am excited to be a part of and connect with the TC community and help you on your TC journey!

Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Bilingual extension in Korean - Master of Science

I am a second-year MS student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program with a Bilingual extension in Korean here at Teachers College. I received my BA in Hearing and Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland - Go Terps! I was born and raised in Queens, New York, until I moved away to Maryland when I was in middle school. I absolutely love being back in NYC and being in the CSD program here at TC. I am passionate about providing the best care and treatments to my clients! This means learning how to advocate for my patients, and being up-to-date on evidence-based research. When I am not busy with school, I enjoy cafe hopping, throwing clay on the wheel, and visiting art museums. In addition to the CSD program, I am also pursuing Ceramics independent study courses from the Art and Art Education program due to my love for visual arts and art history.

Communication Sciences and Disorders Bilingual Extension Track - Master of Science

I am a first-year MS student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Bilingual Extension Track at Teachers College. I double-majored in psychology and education at University of California, Riverside, and attended a postbaccalaureate program at Chapman University in CSD to satisfy all my prerequisites. I grew up in the suburbs of Southern California and recently moved to New York. Although it has been a huge change, I am beyond excited to connect and get to know you all! I am passionate about serving others, so studying in a helping field and being a Student Ambassador fulfills me and drives me to be the best individual I can be. I will become a bilingual medical speech pathologist after receiving my master’s and hope to serve underserved populations and communities regardless of background, culture, or socioeconomic status at hospitals and clinics. I also aspire to start my own bilingual clinic that provides patient-centered care for all! I look forward to meeting and supporting you all every step of the way in your application process!

Music & Music Education - Master of Arts

I am a Music & Music Education student at Teachers College working towards my master's. I grew up in Berkeley, CA, and moved to New York City in 2017 to attend Manhattan School of Music for my undergraduate studies. Outside of music, I love improv theater, playing board games, and exploring the wide variety of restaurants in NYC! Playing and teaching music are both important to me, so Teachers College has been a fantastic environment for me to develop critical pedagogy skills, examine education theory, and advance my own musicianship and artistry. I am inspired every day by the passion and brilliance of my professors and peers, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to show you what TC has to offer!

Nutrition Education - Master of Science

I am currently a first-year student in the integrated MS-RDN program in Nutrition Education here at Teachers College. I went to the University of Connecticut in Storrs and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences, and I have a minor in Biological Sciences. I am originally from Westchester, NY, but grew up in Greenwich, CT, so I am very new to the NYC lifestyle, and I’m intrigued to explore the city. I enjoy listening to music, especially reggae, afrobeats, and dancehall. I also absolutely love food, from the art of cooking to the entire gustatory experience. As a Jamaican, I also love the beach and spending time both on and in the water. My two overarching goals in the field of nutrition are to work in programs that combat food insecurity and social injustice and to work with obese and overweight patients who are on their weight-loss journey. I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your TC experience!
