The generosity of alumni, friends, faculty members, corporations and foundations have once again catapulted TC to new heights in achieving financial support for the fiscal year 1998-1999. By giving their ideas, time and financial support, our donors have strengthened Teachers College as a respected institution and launched it into the public phase of a multi-year campaign.

Gifts from private sources raised $14,945,823, a new record for the third consecutive year. Total support was up 6 percent over the previous fiscal year. An increase in leadership gifts and bequests created scholarships and doctoral fellowships. Other leadership gifts established funding to augment existing endowed professorships and create new ones; refurbished facilities; and expanded academic programs and research opportunities. The commitment of our loyal supporters is an invaluable part of our legacy.
