Many of the postcards are from children of all ages who have said so much in just one picture. Others are from older people who felt they had something to say to New York and to New Yorkers.

There are many images of the Twin Towers crying. There are comforting angels. There are messages to God and messages to the world. On the back of each postcard, there is a personal message that can be read in this interactive exhibition. Viewers are encouraged to engage with the images and also respond to them by writing on the walls.

Just as so much has changed since September 11th in New York, these postcards show how these events have changed the world and all its citizens.

Sponsored by the Art and Art Education program, and curated and organized by TC doctoral student Kendal Kennedy, this exhibition is meant to draw a global response to the September 11th tragic events using Mail Art as a communicative medium. The exhibition has become a vehicle for many people across cultures to share their feelings through art-a universal language-that in Professor of Art Education Judith Burton's words, "allow us to speak across national borders and to transcend different national languages. They allow us direct access to an enormous diversity of human experience and prompt dialogues that otherwise would be impossible."
