James Haywood Rolling Jr., director of Academic Administration for the Department of Curriculum and Teaching, is a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir which won their third Grammy in four years for Best Gospel Choir or Chorus Album. This year the choir won for their album Be Glad! The choir was nominated in each of the last four years. The choir also won for the albums High and Lifted Up and God is Working. All together the choir has won five Grammys. The choir can be seen for free any Sunday, at 12 or 4 pm at the Brooklyn Tabernacle in downtown Brooklyn. Rolling largely credits the choir's director with their amazing success. "The amazing thing is that for the most part, our 275 voices are quite ordinary, except for a few standouts who are our soloists...But we have been graced by an extraordinary stretch of beautiful writing and arrangements by our choir director, Carol Cymbala over the recent years."
