Jack Hyland, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees introduced Bailey and said that the community was enormously pleased to have her here.

"This ain't Cleveland," said Bailey with a laugh. "But New York City is the microcosm of the world and I will grow and stretch here."

Bailey was the Dean of the School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western University. She was at the school for 13 years and spent 7 years as its dean. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Secondary Education from Lafayette College in 1974. She was awarded a Masters of Science in Psychiatric Social Work from Columbia University in 1976. In 1981, Bailey received her Certificate of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. In 1988, she received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management.

"I'm thrilled and honored to be here," said Bailey. "I look forward to a long and happy journey at TC."
