Students from P.S. 87, P.S. 165, Heritage High School and Mott Hall II attended the performance. Using his music, Brooks demonstrated what jazz is. He also talked about the instruments in his orchestra. At one point, he had one of the children "scatting" with him which made the crowd erupt with applause.
