Nature Photographer Exhibits at Macy Gallery, Teachers College, To Benefit Local Schools

Nature photographer Adam Scott will exhibit his color prints at the Macy Gallery at Teacher’s College at Columbia University from March 1st through March 11th.

New York, NY - February 4, 2005 - Nature photographer Adam Scott will exhibit his color prints at the Macy Gallery at Teacher's College at Columbia University from March 1st through March 11th.

Scott's North American wilderness photographs, printed from traditional film negatives, have a dramatic yet natural feel that captures light and subtleties of texture.  Many are of remote wilderness areas, the result of rock climbing, snowshoeing, and long backpacking journeys to bring pristine American wilderness in front of the photographer's lens.

Scott's technique rejects modern digital trickery.  Using strictly film cameras and negatives, he employs no digital manipulation in his work, bringing nature to the viewer unedited.  His images have been compared to the work of some of the great nineteenth century landscape painters.

The one-man gallery exhibition runs will include a reception featuring the artist on Friday March 4th, from 5 to 9 pm.  All events are free and open to the public.

A percentage of sales of photos of prints in the show will benefit the TC Education Zone Partnership (TCEdZone), which boosts educational opportunities, expectations, and outcomes for New York City schoolchildren.

The Macy Gallery is located at 525 West 120th Street, on the campus of Teachers College at Columbia University in New York City.  For additional information visit http://www.adamscottphotos.com, email nyc2005@adamscottphotos.com, or call the exhibition information line at (216) 691-1106.
