Institute for Student Achievement Launches Eight New Partner Schools in Atlanta and New York

The Institute for Student Achievement (ISA) announced the opening of eight new small high schools and small learning communities - located in New York, New York, Ossining, New York and Atlanta, Georgia, this fall. These additions to the growing network of ISA partner schools bring the total number of schools to 32, thus raising the bar for achievement for about 7,000 students nationwide. ISA, a leading school redesign partner that facilitates the transformation of low-performing high schools into small learning communities and small schools designed to prepare all students for success in college, is proud to introduce the following new partner schools - which are poised to become successful national models for high school reform.

To ensure that each of the new partner schools is a long-term success, ISA provides principals and teachers ongoing guidance and implementation support throughout the school year.  Additionally, each school has an ISA coach -- an experienced school leader with expertise in school development, curriculum and instruction - who is on-site one day per week to support the school team as it implements the ISA Seven Principles.  ISA's strength as a partner is also bolstered by its relationship with the National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools, & Teaching (NCREST), Teachers College, Columbia University, which provides student performance and program implementation data to schools to support their continuous organizational improvement.
