City Students Receive Laptops Thanks to TC Team

Dr. Irving Hamer of the Department of Organization and Leadership and a team of TC students have worked in collaboration with private, non-profit, and public sector partners to implement the “One-to-One in Ten” program in New York City schools.

Dr. Irving Hamer of the Department of Organization and Leadership and a team of TC students have worked in collaboration with private, non-profit, and public sector partners to implement the "One-to-One in Ten" program in New York City schools.  The program refers to the first 1:1 match program that provides students in the New York City Department of Education's Region 10 with Apple and Dell notebook computers.  Hamer's team began work on the initiative in the spring of 2004 with a "bottom-up" approach that permits school leadership, teachers, parents, and students the opportunity to determine how best to integrate the new technology into schools' instructional programs.

The article, entitled "'One-to-One in Ten' Program Gives Apple, Dell Laptops to NYC Students," appeared in the August 30 edition of Macsimum News
