Listen Up!, a project of the non-profit television production company Learning Matters, which is headed by TC Trustee John Merrow, has been chosen to receive  the George Foster Peabody Award, broadcasting's highest honor. The award is for "Beyond Borders:  Stories from a Small Planet," which consists of nine short pieces created by the youth producers  of the Listen Up! network.  The one -hour program aired on the Independent Film Channel, which has the exclusive right to our youth producers' work.

The award will be presented June 4th at the Waldorf  Astoria in New York.

"We are hoping to bring many of the kids,  from as far away as Sierre Leone and Jordan," says Merrow .
This is the second Peabody Award won by Learning Matters. The first was for "School Sleuth" in 2001.
