"Democracy House, the Middlesex County College service-learning program, received the County Service Award from the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The award, presented March 13 during the Business Awards Breakfast, recognized their dedicated service to nonprofit organizations in the area.

The Comic Book Project is a national program, developed by Teacher's College, Columbia University (a Democracy House partner), in which kids create their own comic books with themes important to them. They might have a superhero cleaning up the environment or preventing bullying. This program allows kids to express their creativity, develop literacy skills and become better citizens.
