Head of Cannon School recognized

Cannon School Head Matthew Gossage has been recognized as an outstanding school head by the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Cannon School Head Matthew Gossage has been recognized as an outstanding school head by the Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

He began his education career in 1977 as an English teacher and assistant coach at Chamblee High School in Atlanta.

He was headmaster at Westminster Schools of Augusta, Ga., for six years starting in 1987, then became head of school at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School in St. Louis. He became Cannon's sixth head of school in July.
