Newark Mayor Cory Booker, New York Governor David Paterson, former Barnard College president Judith Shapiro, and Teachers College Professor Emeritus Antoinette Gentile will receive Teachers College’s Medal for Distinguished Service at its 2009 Convocation exercises in May, where the College is expected to award more than 1,900 master’s and doctoral degrees. Paterson, Shapiro and Booker will receive their medals at the ceremonies for master’s degree candidates on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, May 19.
