Modern-day Mourning

TC Professor George Bonnano is quoted in an article in Newsday that explores the phenomenon of posting memorials to loved ones on Web sites such as YouTube, MySpace and Facebook.
Grieving a loved one can take various forms and these days it's not unusual to do so by posting an online memorial on a Web site like YouTube or Facebook. In an article in Newsday published on June 10, George Bonnano, Professor of Education and Psychology at TC, explains the role these online memorials play in the grieving process.

"We lead a high-stress, compartmentalized lifestyle," Bonnano is quoted in the article. "So when people produce these memorials online, it makes them feel connected."
