Three TC Students Honored with the Deutsch Award for Social Justice

Teachers College students Naomi Mayor, Linda Leder, and Lauren Johnson will deliver presentations on their work in the field of Social Justice on April 8th, at the 2010 Morton Deutsch Awards for Social Justice.
Teachers College students Naomi Mayor, Linda Leder, and Lauren Johnson will deliver presentations on their research in the field of Social Justice on April 8th, at the 2010 Morton Deutsch Awards for Social Justice.

Naomi and Linda collaborated on a paper called: Formulating a New Model of Israel Education for the 21st Century Based on Concepts of Peace Education.  Naomi will make the presentation, while Linda joins us via Skype from Israel.

Lauren Johnson will present on a paper called: The Downside of Patriarchal Benevolence: Ambivalence in Addressing Domestic Violence and Socio-Economic Considerations for Women of Tamil Nadu, India, created during her undergraduate time at the University of Arizona.

The awards ceremony will take place in Grace Dodge Hall, Rm. 179 from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, April 8th.  We will also be honoring Columbia University Provost, Claude Steele for his scholarly contributions to the field of Social Justice.  He will make a presentation on his past, current, and future work.
