How to End Wars that Don't: The Work of TC's Peter Coleman is Featured in Nature

Peter Coleman, Professor of Psychology and Education, and Director of TC's Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution, has teamed with two social psychologists, Robin Vallacher and Andrzej Nowak, to understand persistent violent conflict in nations such as Colombia, Sri Lanka, the Democratic Republic of Congo and elsewhere.

A story in the current issue of Nature focuses on the three researchers' application of dynamical systems theory, which looks beyond single causes to understand a complex web of factors.

Coleman is also Co-Director, Advanced Consortium for Cooperation, Conflict, and Complexity (AC4), The Earth Institute at Columbia University. He is the author of The Five Percent: Finding Solutions to (Seemingly) Impossible Conflicts (2011).
