NewsOne Features Science G.E.N.I.U.S., Talk With Emdin and Adjapong
Science Genius Ambassador Clifton Johnson performsNewsOne, a multimedia website for and about Blacks in America, visited the year-end performance event of Science Genius B.A.T.T.L.E.S. (Bringing Attention to Transforming, Teaching and Learning Science) in the Bronx.

Science GENIUS uses the power of hip-hop music and culture to introduce young students to the wonder and beauty of science and to develop and nurture their interest and knowledge in all the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects. Science G.E.N.I.U.S. holds an annual, year-end performance event where students from across New York City perform their own rap songs that explain certain science concepts they have studied throughout the year, such as photosynthesis.
In addition to the story about Science G.E.N.I.U.S., NewsOne posted a taped conversation with Emdin and a protege, Edmund Adjapong, who received his doctorate in science education in May. The pair talk about their mentoring relationship, which lasted through Adjapong's doctoral studies at Teachers College.
