Michael Rebell, Professor of Law and Educational Practice

In a new article from the American Bar Association Journal, Michael Rebell —Teachers College Professor of Law & Education and Executive Director of the College’s Center for Educational Equity — discusses his lawsuit against Rhode Island officials on the behalf of 14 public school students and their families. The challenge, filed in November, argues the state has “failed to prepare young people for the rigors of citizenship.”

“If the next generation of young people is not properly educated [in civics], our form of government will be imperiled,” Rebell told the journal.
