Farewell to Darlyne Bailey

Darlyne Bailey, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Teachers College, left TC at the end of the summer to become the founding Dean of the University of Minnesota's College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a unique college that will truly make a difference for countless lives," said Bailey. CEHD is a new entity created from the merger of several University departments and colleges focusing on education and the social sciences.

Bailey served in her TC position beginning in 2002, including a stint as Acting President of the College in spring 2003. In announcing her departure to TC faculty, students and staff, she said, "As a member of this community, I have been blessed with many deep and meaningful relationships, all of which make it difficult for me to say farewell. I will instead say thank you for all of the wonderful moments of learning and growing that we have shared. You have touched my soul."
