People's Climate March 9/21/14...we'll be there!

This is a modified call to action from our friends at the Brooklyn Food Coalition which is organizing the Food and Agriculture Contingent for the People's Climate March:

September 21 will be a historic day in NYC -
Bring your friends and family as we make the PEOPLE’S CLIMATE MARCH the kick-off to the movement for a sane climate future.  Organizers are projecting it will be the largest demonstration against climate change ever, with vibrant contingents of various sorts to call out our concerns and solutions to the climate crisis at our collective door.

The Tisch Food Center and TC faculty and students are active in the Food and Agriculture Contingent. The food justice movement is organizing a Food and Agriculture contingent for the march that we hope you’ll join.  Farmers and farmworkers, school and community gardeners, restaurant staff and culinary students, food processing workers, food business owners, anti-hunger and pro-health advocates will all join together to raise the importance of food policy and practice in mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The Food and Agriculture Contingent will meet at 72nd and Central Park West at 1030am. Here are more details about where/when to meet: http://brooklynfoodcoalition.org/events-calendar/.

The Tisch Food Center worked as part of a team on this two-pager to communicate the food contingent's message about the intersection of food and climate. Please share widely!
